DON BUCKMASTER attended Mount Senario College in
Ladysmith, WI, where he was involved in the College’s
ensembles, and Schoolcraft College, where he was a
member of the wind and jazz ensembles. Don’s major
instrument is clarinet, and he also plays flute and
saxophone. He spent 9 years serving as the Director of
Instrumental Music at Ladywood High School in Livonia,
and is currently Director at St. Valentine School in Redford.
Mr.Buckmaster has played woodwinds professionally with
various bands for over 30 years. Don has been teaching
for 34 years and at Cameron’s since 1994.

JEFF PONDERS comes to Cameron's with over 8 years of
professional playing experience, having shared the stage
with such luminaries as John Legend, James Carter,
Randy Brecker and Kanye West. He has been teaching
music and mentoring musicians in Detroit and
Philadelphia since 2004. He graduated from the Wharton
School of the University of Pennsylvania in 2004 with a
Bachelor's degree and has enjoyed private instruction with
such Detroit jazz legends as Marcus Belgrave, Donald
Walden and Leonard King. He specializes in jazz
instruction on the entire saxophone family
JULIE SEADIN began studying the flute at the age of 12 and
has studied with Masters from the DSO (Erv Monroe, Shaul
Ben-Mier) and others. She also studied Jazz Improvisation
with Al Ayoub (Alexander Zonjic & Friends) Ms. Hollowell
has performed with groups such as the Westminster
Consort Flute Choir, Oakland University Flute Choir and
the Michigan Flute Choir. Ms. Hollowell works as a
substitute flutist in community orchestras throughout the
tri-county area and has done several Master Classes and
participated in group performances with Alexander Zonjic,
group performance for Sir James & Lady Jeanne Galway &
others.
Ms. Hollowell has served as assistant to the music
director at her church (choir) and as conductor for the
Canton New Horizons Band.
Whether you want to just play for fun, want to audition for
the top band at your school, and/or want to prepare for a
career as an orchestral musician, Julie Hollowell can help
you reach that goal.
Julie places a strong emphasis on encouraging students
to face challenges with a positive attitude. She strives to
help students develop a strong sense of self-esteem and
confidence while developing a love for all types of music.
Her high-energy style encourages students to take
musical risks and have fun. She creates lesson plans for
every individual member of her studio, based on the
student's goals and interests.
Julie is a freelance flutist & vocalist with over 15 years
professional playing experience. She has been teaching
flute privately for 20 years.
HEATHER KOCH earned her Bachelor’s Degree in
General/Choral Music Education from Michigan State
University. Teaching experience and several courses in
Suzuki Technique for Flute have proven valuable for
instructing students as young as age 5 through High
School. In addition to helping beginners, she especially
enjoys teaching intermediate & advanced students
wishing to improve their tone & technique and expand their
repertoire. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals.
Having played and studied flute for over 30 years, Heather
trained under principal orchestral flutists Edwin Lenning
(DSO), Israel Borouchoff (MSU), and Alexander Murray
(during several years at Interlochen’s Summer Arts
Camp.) She has performed in Symphonic Bands,
Marching Bands, college and community Orchestras, Flute
Choirs, Recorder Ensembles, Hammered Dulcimer
Groups, and has a special fondness for Celtic music.
Faith Scholfield, second oboist with the Windsor
Symphony Orchestra, comes to Cameron's with a wealth
of performance experience and education. She earned her
Bachelor's Degree in Oboe Performance from the
esteemed Eastman School of Music and her Master's
degree in Oboe Performance from the University of
Michigan. In addition to her performing duties with the
Windsor Symphony Orchestra she has performed in the
Eastman Philharmonia and the U of M Symphony
Orchestra. She is also a Special Professor of Oboe at the
University of Windsor and has taught at Cameron's since
the Fall of 2008.

MARK PHILLIPS brings a wealth of experience to
Cameron's Music. He was the instrumental music director
for West Bloomfield Public Schools from 2001 to 2006.
Prior to that he was the instrumental music director at
Harrison High School in Farmington Hills from 1980-2001.
He has been involved with the Michigan School Band and
Orchestra Association (MSBOA) since 1983. He is also a
member of our saxophone ensemble that meets here
weekly. Mark is versed in the entire woodwind family and
would be an excellent instructor for those looking to score
highly at Solo and Ensemble festivals or prepare for
college auditions.
