Cameron's Music, a case study in family owned and operated businesses, was started in 1993 by Ken Cameron, widely regarded as one of the best woodwind technicians in the country. His wife Vivian joined him in 1996 to manage the office and run the adjoining Livonia Music Conservatory, an instrument and voice educational facility. Joe Johnston, brass technician and school representative, started working for Cameron's in 1998. Emily Johnston, Ken's daughter and Joe's wife, began managing the office and ever-increasing inventory in 2000, as well as heading up the String Instrument department and teaching violin lessons.
