Saxophone legend James Carter
(biography, discography) stopped into
the store the first week of April, 2007 to
visit with Ken and browse our vintage
instrument and mouthpiece collection.
(l-r) Michael Stephenson (soprano), Stephen Pollock (tenor), Connie Frigo (baritone) and Chris
Hemingway (alto) tear the roof off the store during our clinic with the New Century Sax Quartet.
Woodwind Clinic with the New Century Sax Quartet
The New Century Saxophone Quartet
came to our store for a performance and
clinic on Saturday, March 10th.  For two
hours they entertained a large and
excited crowd with their intricate
arrangements of classic and
contemporary music.  They
demonstrated the unique range of sax
quartet, answered questions and even
offered some hands-on advice to eager
students who stuck around afterwards.
Catch this group on tour; they are
amazing. For more information, check
out their website:

It's always a pleasure when longtime
customer
Wendell Harrison
(biography) stops in to visit, like he did
in July, 2007.
The Wolf Scouts of Den 9, Cub Scout Pack 790
came to Cameron's Music in January 2007 for a tour
of the store, orchestral demonstration and kazoo
band blowout!  Our thanks to the Cubs for coming in
to celebrate and learn about music with us.
Master tenor saxophonist Stephen Pollock
(
official site) gave a wonderful performance,
clinic and discussion at Cameron's on
October 20th, 2007.  He is a founding
member of the
New Century Saxophone
Quartet
(official site) and a favorite of ours.

Detroit's own Duane Parham (official

place in the summer of 2007.
Students, parents and friends
eagerly await the first
performance of what we hope
will be the first of many recitals
on Sunday, December 9th,
2007.  48 of our private lesson
students of all skill levels and
ages performed holiday and
popular favorites to three
excited, standing-room-only
crowds.  One of the benefits of
taking lessons at Cameron's
Music is the opportunity to
show off what you've learned at
regular recitals.  Stay tuned for
information on our next recital,
scheduled for May of this year.
Real-life guitar hero Derek St. Holmes (of the Ted Nugent
Band) rolled into Cameron's on Sunday, April 6th, 2008
for the NAMM Camp Jam Spring Tour.  He gave a short
clinic, officiated as 5 young rockers competed for a free
week at Summer Camp Jam by playing their favorite rock
solos, then faced off 20 youngsters in a "Guitar Hero"
video game competition.  Thanks, Derek, for an
unforgettable afternoon!
